VeneersVeneers

Our smile often gives us confidence. Improving your smile is one of the best ways to increase your self-confidence.  Bonding and veneers are one solution to making your teeth look better by changing their colour, shape or spacing.  Bonding or veneers can be used to correct the appearance of stains, gaps, and crooked teeth.  Talk to Dr. Raimundo to find out whether veneers are the ideal dental solution for you.

There are two different materials that can be used to modify the appearance and shape of your teeth.  These are porcelain and composite.

Porcelain Veneers

Whether your teeth are chipped, cracked, discoloured, or misaligned, porcelain veneers can create a natural-looking smile.  Porcelain veneers are durable, stain-resistant and are designed to last for years. They are a non-invasive means of creating a beautiful smile.  Porcelain veneers require two visits.  During your first appointment, Dr. Raimundo will prepare the exterior of your teeth to accommodate the thickness of the porcelain veneers.  She will then take a mold of your smile, and fabricate your porcelain veneers. While the final porcelain veneers are being fabricated, you will have temporary veneers placed on your teeth. During your final visit, the porcelain veneers will be fitted and bonded to your teeth.

Composite Bonding

Composite bonding is another way to create a beautiful smile. Bonding uses a white filling material or composite resin to create your teeth.  With composite bonding your teeth can also be contoured and shaped in only one visit.  There is usually no need for local anaesthetic or freezing, it costs less than porcelain veneers, however composite resins do not last as long and overtime they can be stained by tobacco, coffee, tea, blueberries, grape juice, cherries and red wine.
