Dental Hygienist Team
Our Dental Hygienists Kathy, Jen and Ashlee remove soft and hard deposits from teeth, teach patients how to practice good oral hygiene, and provide other preventive dental care. Our Hygienists examine patients’ teeth and gums, recording the presence of diseases or abnormalities. They remove calculus, stains, and plaque from teeth; perform root planing as a periodontal therapy; take and develop dental x rays; and apply cavity-preventive agents such as fluorides and pit and fissure sealants. If that's not enough our Hygiene team also help patients develop and maintain good oral health. For example, they may explain the relationship between diet and oral health or inform patients how to select toothbrushes and show them how to brush and floss their teeth.
Dental Assistants
Kayla
and Amy perform a variety of patient care, office, and
laboratory duties. They sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment,
prepare and lay out the instruments and materials required to treat each
patient, and obtain and update patients' dental records. They ensure that
our patients are comfortable in the dental chair and prepare them for
treatment. During dental procedures, they work alongside Dr. Raimundo to
provide assistance. Following treatment they also instruct patients on
postoperative and general oral healthcare.
